The Guadalupe Center has received a $10,000 grant from the ExEL Foundation for its Early Childhood Education Program in Immokalee. The Program provides education in English for 270 children from infancy through five years of age in preparation for Kindergarten. There are currently 415 children on the waitlist for this program.
Excel Foundation is a not for profit organization that provides tuition assistance for families in need in the belief that investing in the first five years of a child’s life is when the greatest amount of brain development occurs.
The cornerstones of the Guadalupe Center’s Early Childhood Education Center and the ExEL Foundation are that children who enter kindergarten without these skills taught in a high quality pre-school program are at significant risk of failure in school.
