Learn More - Summer Enrichment

With summer fast approaching, you may be planning your summer activities, a vacation or perhaps you’ll be enjoying a staycation. Whichever the case, it is sure to create memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

 

Guadalupe Center’s Summer Enrichment Program is planning to do the same and we need your help! More than 300 students are excitedly waiting for the program to begin on June 10. For six weeks, students in kindergarten through second grade will participate in a wide variety of academic support programs, enrichment activities and field trips. Your support helps students stay active

and maintain academic gains while having fun and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

 

Here are just some of the summer activities: 

 

      • Field trips to Ding Darling, Roberts Ranch, Paragon Movie Theater
      • Continued academic support
      • STEM Program
      • United Arts Council Dance & Drama programs
      • Presentations from Shy Wolf Sanctuary, Kowiachobee Animal Preserve, Big Cypress National Preserve, the Nutty Scientist
      • A visit from Collier County Sheriff’s Department Helicopter
      • University of Florida Dental Clinic screenings
      • Breakfast, lunch and a snack
      • And a whole lot of fun

 

Our After-School Tutoring and Summer Enrichment Program provides a  safe and educational experience for children when school isn’t in session. Your support provides hope and changes the lives of these children forever helping them to achieve academic excellence with the goal of economic independence.

 

 

With our year-round programs, summer is just heating up! Just this month:

 

      • 88 five-year olds graduated from pre-kindergarten
      • 25 seniors graduated from Immokalee High School and are heading off to colleges across the country
      • 30 young adults will graduate college this spring and summer – many within 4 years!
      • 92 four-year olds are starting their journey to elementary school in our pre-kindergarten classes
      • 300+ elementary students have enrolled in our free, six-week, full-day Summer Enrichment Program
      • 24 rising freshman were hired into the Tutor Corps work-study program this year and will earn wages and accrue scholarship funds while receiving intensive college prep 
    •  

 

In total, more than 1,300 children and families in Immokalee depend on the contributions of generous supporters like you to continue their educational journey. Many more children are waiting for their opportunity.
